"Fight!! Victory Leo" (Part 1 of 4)
Some flashbacks from the previous two episodes appear
as the Cybertrons await the creation of Victory Leo from
God Ginrai's corpse. Escaping with news of his death, Hellbat
reveals another large source of processed energy to the Destrons.
Technical details:
The source is a second-generation videotape, though of a much better quality than the Masterforce clips. However, it's worse than my previous Victory episode clips. The full-screen view looks okay at 1280X1024 resolution on my monitor, helped by the sharpen filter I applied to the video. I recommend watching it in 640X480 resolution.
Description of the events in the video:
Starting with a commercial break with Star Saber, the clip continues into a preview. Perceptor is supervising the creation of Victory Leo, who suddenly bursts out through a door and transforms into a roaring winged lion, to the surprise of Jan and Holi nearby. In their dinosaur Pretender shells, the Dinoforce fire upon the Cybertron Multiforce combiner Landcross. He leaps up and away, fires a green energy blast from his sword at one (Goryu), throws one (Gairyu) into another two (Doryu and Rairyu), and fires another blast at the pteranodon Yokuryu, who crashes into Kakuryu. Victory Leo in winged lion mode roars again right before the title scene appears.
Next comes a short review from the previous two episodes. God Ginrai tried to use his sword to pin the Destron commander Deszaras, who blocks his momentum with his right leg and then bashes him on the back, sending him pummeling to the ground. Lifting his Gun, Deszaras drives it down at God Ginrai, who uses his sword to keep its barrel from his head. The scene then switches to other Cybertrons gathering around him as he passes away, with the human boy Jan mourning near his head. The narrator notes that God Ginrai will be made into power-up armor for Star Saber, who doesn't look too happy about this turn of events.
Back to the present, in the huge Cybertron base (Countdown) at a tropical island with palm trees, the reconstruction of the corpse continues. On a screen, watched by Perceptor and Wheeljack, are some visuals of their work, including one of God Ginrai's head. Minerva is standing by Star Saber, who's seated and watching the process. Outside the chamber are the other Cybertrons. Looking through a window, the Brainmaster car robots (Laster, Braver, and Blacker from front to back) are watching, too. Watching through a monitor are the Rescue Patrol Micromaster Holi and Jan, who isn't too happy with the whole thing.
The Multiforce robots are in another room, in which Wingwaver suddenly notices something odd while looking over at a security monitor. It's Hellbat's Breastforce partner, a bat, whose red eyes glow brighter when it lands. Down along the base's wheels outside arrive Wingwaver and Dashtacker, who open fire on the bat. The creature flies down and reattaches to Hellbat, who rounds the corner at the other end of the base, transforms his bat into a weapon, opens fire, and retreats. When the two Cybertrons turn the corner in pursuit, Hellbat's red eyes glow with his sleeping hypnosis attack. It puts out Dashtacker but not Wingwaver, who had been hiding behind a wheel to avoid it. He then leaps out and fires. Flying up, Hellbat transforms into his jet mode and flies off. Wingwaver's gun disappears in a flash as he splits into Wing (the jet) and Waver (the hydrofoil) in pursuit of him over the ocean.
Escaping, Hellbat dives into the water, where he rejoins Leozack and Deszaras aboard their ship Thunder Arrow and tells them what he has learned. Hellbat's report of a large energy source being carried by an energy trailer truck for the Cybertrons pinpoints it as the Destrons' next target before the symbol switch ending the clip.

Description of the events in the video:
Meanwhile, back at the Cybertron base with a mournful music background, most Cybertrons gather to hear Star Saber report on God Ginrai's reconstruction. The new robot is almost ready! The scene switches to the chamber, where Perceptor is making final adjustments when the new robot, bathed in bright yellow light and purple electricity, rises on a platform from under the floor with sinister music playing. Minerva and Star Saber watch as the process nears completion, with the name of the now obviously huge robot appearing in Japanese near the bottom. Leaning forward in his seat, Star Saber shows his awe, shared by the others, as he announces the arrival of Victory Leo, his name for the new robot, who simply nods once. "Victory Leo...Victory Leo...Victory Leo!" Jan tries out the name, wiping happy tears away from his smiling face, as Holi tells him that it's all right after all. The others are glad as well, with Dashtacker and Wingwaver even joining their arms. Perceptor tells them that the new Cybertron will have to rest for a while.
Later Jan (atop his circular hoverboard) and Holi approach the doors to a chamber where Victory Leo is being kept, wondering about meeting him. Hearing them, he answers the question for them by calling out (in his God Ginrai voice) and remotely opening the chamber's doors. The two enter the dark chamber, walking toward him sitting under a quartet of dim lights. Noting their hesitance, he reassures them by talking to them and recalling their names, which sparks their celebration at the thought that God Ginrai's mind and personality still lives on.
Suddenly Victory Leo clutches his left side, groaning. Shrugging it off, he tells them they should leave. However, the pain comes back. As the two outside talk about the meeting, Victory Leo suddenly bursts through the doors and transforms into his winged lion mode, roaring mightily. Surprised, Jan and Holi scamper out of the way as the loud lion passes them down the hallway. Victory Leo stops and begins running into the walls and electronics. Blacker and some other Cybertrons then arrive, only to get out of the way when the roaring lion leaps over them and away. He bursts into Star Saber's chamber, slowly stalking over to him and Perceptor and Wheeljack next to him, blue eyes glowing for a moment. Blacker then shows up. "Soushireikan!" ("Leader", or "Prime") Star Saber puts up a hand, telling Blacker to stay back. The lion continues to approach. Jan moves into the way, telling Victory Leo to stop, as the others watch the standoff. The lion then turns around and runs off, leaving Jan collapsing in relief, as Star Saber and Perceptor discuss the situation with him.
The lion continues roaring loudly until a red alert klaxon blares, indicating a Destron attack. Jan and Holi rush into another chamber, joining the others as they listen to Blacker reporting that the Destrons are after energy carried aboard a large tanker truck. Wingwaver takes upon the task of dealing with the Destrons this time as he leads his Multiforce team out of the base before the commercial break with Deszaras.

Description of the events in the video:
After the commercial break with the Dinoforce, Jan and Holi return to just outside the ravaged doors of Victory Leo's chamber, where the lion himself is growling. The two leap back in fear when he turns his head, an eye gleaming, to look at them. ^_^
A photo album with a colorless photo of Star Saber, Jan, and God Ginrai shows up next, tears falling upon God Ginrai from Jan, as Holi announces his arrival in Jan's room. Handing the album to Holi, the boy now doubts that Victory Leo remembers his original self as the mournful music ends.
Outside Dash (the red car) leads the Multiforce land vehicles as the air vehicles Wing (the jet) and Mach (the shuttle) fly above. They notice Hellbat, who tells the Dinoforce and Leozack that the "energy trailer" is coming. The two Breastforce jets fly up to challenge the Cybertron flyers while Kakuryu (the triceratops) walks out and blocks the road, giggling a bit. ^_^ While the humans inside are distracted, Goryu throws an energy ring with his club aimed near the front, stopping the truck.
Talking with Braver over communications, Dash joins Tacker into their combined robot mode. Running up with Tackle (the orange and blue truck), Dashtacker tells the humans to hurry up and get away in it. Goryu tries to hit Tackle with his purple energy rings, but Tackle gets away safely. Hiding behind a cliff, Dashtacker exchanges gunfire with the Dinoforce before the symbol switch.
Back at the base Braver and Laster get Blacker's permission to head for the battlefield, transforming as they run down the main passageway.
Avoiding shots from Leozack's jet mode, Wing combines with Waver to form Wingwaver. Landing, he tells his teammates they should all combine ("gattai"). Jumping up, they shout, "Transform!" Now all separated, they continued, "Gattai, Landcross!" Snapping onto Wing, who forms the head and upper torso, Dash forms the right arm, Mach the left arm, Waver the lower torso and upper legs, Tacker the right leg, and Tackle the left leg as Mach's shuttle wings form the chestplate and Wing produces the robot head.
Landing, Landcross produces his sword. Leaping up away from the simultaneous blasts of the Dinoforce, Landcross directs his sword's energy beam at Goryu, knocking him off his T-Rex. The Cybertron picks up and throws Gairyu the ankylosaur onto Doryu the stegosaur and Rairyu the now-bulging-eyed apatosaur. ^_^ Yokuryu the flying pteranodon gets hit by another beam from the sword, and crashes right next to Kakuryu. The Breastforce jets Leozack and Hellbat strafe Landcross, distracting him while Goryu orders his Dinoforce to combine. Shouting "Transtector!" to free their robot forms from the dinosaur Pretender shells, they quickly combine into Dinoking. Carrying a huge curved axe with a bayonet, Dinoking rushes Landcross.
Rolling into the scene and fired on by Leozack, Laster and Braver transform. Flying down, Dinoking knocks Landcross down on his back, but is kicked away. Landing on the energy trailer truck, he lifts up one energy canister, sends it plunging into the ground next to the now standing Landcross, and fires energy rings from his bayonet at the canister, blowing it up and damaging the Cybertron. Landing on the ground, Dinoking finds himself fired on by Laster and Braver. His bayonet's energy rings knocks them away, though, allowing him to land on Landcross' back and gloat malevolently.
Watching the battle back at the base, the Cybertrons are worried. (A message pops up along the bottom of the screen just then. :/) Blacker asks "Soushireikan" for permission to go, but Star Saber tells him to wait, apparently saying that Blacker, Braver, and Laster wouldn't be able to form Road Caesar, and that he should go instead. That shocks Wheeljack, Minerva, and Perceptor there, as well as Jan. Star Saber tries to get up, but couldn't, as Perceptor later points out. Just then Victory Leo roars, standing silhouetted in the doorway, as Jan moves back a bit on his hoverboard. Star Saber says that Victory Leo wants to go. Blacker isn't sure about this, but after some more growling and a glint in the lion's eyes, Star Saber says it'll be okay, and tells Victory Leo to go. Roaring once more, the lion leaps off, running down the main passageway, and then shouts "Transform!" to change into a jet and fly off before the symbol switch.

Description of the events in the video:
In jet mode Victory Leo skims over the water as the scene changes to the battle. Dinoking knocks Landcross down with a swing of his axe, but his next swing is blocked by the combiner's sword. Laster and Braver fire from behind some rocks, but Dinoking scatters them with energy rings from his bayonet. Getting up, Landcross charges Dinoking but is thrown back onto the ground again. As the two Breastforce jets Leozack and Hellbat strafe Laster and Braver, Dinoking steps again on Landcross' back.
Just then the tune changes. Victory Leo is here! Blazing in, the Cybertron jet's strong blasts knocks Dinoking off Landcross into the air. Noticing the new Cybertron, Leozack and Hellbat then open fire on him. He avoids the shots and physically rams into them! "Transform!" yells Leozack, changing to robot mode. Victory Leo transforms to robot mode too as Hellbat joins Leozack, noting that the Cybertron is a beast. The two shout "Breast attack!" to send their chestplates transforming into beasts to attack. With lightning speed the lion holds Leozack's lion down with his left paw while swinging Hellbat's bat around in his teeth before throwing it away, and charging the two robots, who meet the same fate.
Watching the fight, Dinoking fires off energy rings from his bayonet at the intruder. The lion leaps away in time to leave Leozack and Hellbat behind to face the explosion. Dinoking blocks the lion's attack with his bayonet-axe's handle. The roaring beast charges again, biting into Dinoking's left arm with his teeth. Driving him off with a swing of the axe, Dinoking rushes him, only to be bodily slammed away by the lion and have his axe spinning away. Crashing onto the ground, he jumps up away from the lion in time onto the energy canisters, preparing to do the same thing he did to Landcross by picking up one and lifting it into the air. Not waiting for the conclusion, Victory Leo opens fire on Dinoking's canister, blowing it apart and the Destron combiner away in pain in the explosion. ^_^;
Shocked at this turn of events, Leozack orders a hasty retreat, transforming into jet mode with Hellbat and flying away. As the lion growls after them and the escaping Dinoforce, Laster, Braver, and Landcross watch from a distance, also stunned by the new Cybertron warrior. "Victory Leo..." begins Landcross. "Transform!" the lion shouts, changing into jet mode and flying away.
After a symbol switch the scene changes to the Cybertron base. Star Saber remarks on Victory Leo's power, but worries about the mind. Just then a pair of figures enter from the lit doorway. "Greatshot," Star Saber recognizes the taller robot, led in by Holi. They talk some more about the matter, ending with a series of roars by the lion in his chamber before the commercial break with Jan and Holi begins.
Next is the preview for the next episode, which has clips from "The Destron Fortress Resurrected" in which Star Saber almost gets killed by Deszaras.
