Below are the descriptions for the clips.
"The Victory Combination" (Part 1 of 4)
The ad for the official release of Transformers: The Movie in Japan is included.
The Cybertrons move in to minimize destruction from a huge missile, not realizing
that it will launch four other missiles...
Technical details:
The source is a second-generation videotape, though of a much better quality than the Masterforce clips. The full-screen view looks fine at 1280X1024 resolution on my monitor, helped by the sharpen filter I applied to the video. I recommend watching it in 640X480 resolution.
Description of the events in the video:
The clip begins with a 15-second ad for Transformers: The Movie, which finally was shown in Japan in 1990. The Autobot shuttle containing Prowl, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Brawn is seen blasting off. Unicron destroys the planet Lithone. A damaged Megatron is blown off by the speaking planet-mode Unicron, seen also in robot mode from after his transformation. Hot Rod transforms, carrying the boy Daniel in him. Optimus Prime's uppercut sends the diving Megatron crashing onto the ground. Optimus is hit by a gun blast. Springer's hands push forward on the controls, moving his shuttle on. The movie title screen appears, followed by the opening date of November 10 as this ad ends.
After the commercial break with a super-deformed Star Saber is the preview. Victory Leo leaps away from a shot and goes up to fire in return from his gatling guns on his sides. In another sequence he dives in, blocking blasts with his arms before preparing to kick someone. Then part of Victory Leo is shown transforming into power-up back wing armor which snaps onto Star Saber, flipping down and extending the twin cannons over his shoulders, to form Victory Saber. Dragon-mode Deszaras fires two bombs which explode harmlessly against the arms of Victory Saber, who fires back with his shoulder cannons. Punched by robot-mode Deszaras, Victory Saber punches him back, kicks him away, and then draws out Victory Leo's rifle and fires... The episode title then shows up.
Running across a landscape, Wingwaver looks down at his arm-mounted watch. Following are Tacker and Dash, and Mach and Tackle. The first pair combine into Dashtacker, the second into Machtackle, joining Wingwaver. Also arriving are the Rescue Patrol with Jan coming out of Holi (Stakeout). Holi then transforms, wondering what Destron commander Deszaras is up to. They are apparently waiting for his missile launched for that area.
A train rolls along its track into the area. Dashtacker runs off to stop it. Holi points out another potential casualty. The large missile finally appears. Dashtacker pushes against the train to help stop it and its screaming passengers, and then turns to look at the missile. It explodes against the ground near Wingwaver, but launches four more, smaller missiles! Wingwaver, Jan, and Holi watch in shock as the four diverge into the distance.
A symbol switch later inside the Cybertron rocket base (Countdown) in the mountains, a map shows the four missiles spreading out from a location in India. All Star Saber could do is to stare blankly at the screen as the symbol switches again.
One of the missiles explodes behind a group of Oriental buildings. A short electrical-line scene change later, another crashes into a small city. Another scene change later is followed by another missile slamming into a larger metropolitan area. The final electrical-line scene change shows the last missile blowing up in the seas, sending up a massive tidal wave. Back at the Cybertron rocket base the four Brainmasters gasp in horror at the destruction on their screens. Braver is particularly angry. Star Saber orders Laster to contact Wingwaver before the symbol change ends this clip.

Description of the events in the video:
Coming to one of the devastated locations, the Cybertrons from the original bomb site are still disturbed by the deceptive tactic and its aftermath. As the Rescue Patrol moves in, Wingwaver talks over his comm unit with Star Saber, who warns him to avoid fighting with the Destrons and let them collect energy. This surprises Wingwaver, who demands to know why, but is cut off by the commander. Watching the conversation at the base with Star Saber, Laster and Braver want to know why, too. Explaining that Deszaras had made a demand, he pulls out a videotape with the message and plays it. As the four Brainmasters watch, Deszaras smugly demands that the Cybertrons will let his Destrons collect all the energy they can. If they interfere, he will launch more missiles which he says Star Saber can't stop in time, ending his message with a laugh. The Brainmasters have no choice.
After symbol switch the view changes to an oil processing field. The electrical sparks are from energy being drained off and turned into energon through collectors held by the seen Dinoforce robots. Behind Rairyu lowering some cubes onto a large stack, Leozack and Goryu, the Dinoforce leader, supervise all this. Kakuryu walks by, carrying a large load of energon cubes and stumbling. Angry at him, Goryu hollers at him. He has to frantically catch all the cubes when Kakuryu falls backwards, comically holding them on his arms, left leg, and back as he stands on his right leg. Sitting up, Kakuryu claps his hands as if watching a performance. ^_^; Goryu's head swells very large as he yells at him, accidentally throwing up the cubes. The yellow Dinoforce member points up at them as Goryu quickly catches them all again, calling Kakuryu an idiot. Leozack expresses his amusement at all this.
The view shifts to the Cybertron rocket base. "Nani (What)?!" calls out Laster at the Destrons' demand. Star Saber suddenly realizes that they still have to prevent Victory Leo from inadvertently angering Deszaras enough to launch those missiles again. Victory Leo happens to be patrolling the area where the Destrons are currently gathering energy.
The scene changes to Victory Leo in lion mode, glowing red and running. He pounces on Kakuryu, making him drop his energon. Landing on the ground and roaring, the lion leaps away from Goryu's blast from his club, which he grabs and throws away with his teeth, and then sends him sprawling.
Leozack fires a shot which misses. "Transform!" Now in robot mode, Victory Leo lands in front of Leozack and takes two steps toward him. The Breastforce leader warns him about Deszaras' threat, but the Cybertron isn't in the mood to really listen. Actually peeved off by it, Victory Leo fires his side-mounted gatling guns. Leozack jumps up and gives one last warning before running forward with his gun blazing. Victory Leo leaps away to the side and up in mid-air to fire his gatling guns again, which miss. Blocking Leozack's shot with his criss-crossed arms, the Cybertron dashes forward from the air and kicks him backwards in the chest. Still standing, Leozack would have been pummeled by the rushing Cybertron if the three car Brainmasters had not come in between them. Blacker says they can't let him go on fighting Leozack, surprising Victory Leo: "Nani?!" As he is pushed away from Leozack by the three smaller Cybertrons, he calls them idiots and shoves them off, but they resume. Leozack and Goryu just look at each other and snicker at the sight.
Back at the Cybertron base Star Saber is working on a plan. Since Deszaras is right about him not fast enough to reach the missile launcher site in time, he has to find some other way. A red schematic of his robot mode appears on his screen and then shifts leftward for one of Victory Leo. The Victory Leo schematic switches from a green, blue, and purple color scheme to orange. The Star Saber schematic shifts back to the right, overlaid over the Victory Leo one. A note of satisfaction surfaces in Star Saber's voice as the commercial break with a super-deformed Deszaras ends this clip.

Description of the events in the video:
After a commercial break ending sequence with the super-deformed Dinoforce and Dinoking, Perceptor expresses his surprise at Star Saber's suggestion, probably thinking this is not yet the right time for a combination ("gattai") with Victory Leo. Minerva finally speaks (in the same voice as in the preceding Masterforce series) in her appearances throughout the Victory series, adding her input, while Wheeljack stands on the other side of Perceptor listening. The Cybertron commander is worried about what the Destrons will do with the energy they will collect. Visuals of the possible devastation, including one of a Yamato-like ship and another of a crashed space shuttle, appear. Getting worked up, Star Saber tugs on Perceptor's left arm, saying he can't let the Destrons prevail. Perceptor still has some reservations about executing the gestalt plan at this time, but Star Saber doesn't, running off to meet Victory Leo.
A symbol scene switch later, Wingwaver runs accompanied by Holi and Pibo. Inside Holi, Jan notices something. Three Breastforce Destrons are walking out from the oil plant with energon cubes. Jargua turns toward them as they approach and stop. He laughs at their impotence, leading the other two away in laughter with the energon. Jan and Holi obviously feel very frustrated at this situation. Wingwaver leads the Cybertron group away, leaving Killbison, Guyhawk, and Jargua guffawing at the Cybertrons' helplessness.
A scene switch later Goryu is pouring energon from a collector into an open rectangular container, which he turns over to pop out a cube while humming to himself. The other Dinoforce robots are drawing out energy into the collectors. Watching all this and their enjoyment, Victory Leo grows increasingly mad. Blacker tries to calm him down.
Kakuryu and two other Dinoforce members carrying energon walk up near them. Laughing, he moves really close to Laster, giggling and trying to incite him, touching the back of the left leg with his left foot before kicking him there. Laster stumbles a bit. This angers Victory Leo much more. Growling, he is held back by the Brainmasters as he tries to move forward. Shouting at Kakuryu not to goof off and dismissing his excuse that he thinks it is fun, Goryu leads him and Gairyu off with the energon cubes. Still angry, Victory Leo says their commander ("soushireikan") wouldn't have let the Destrons get away with all this...
Speaking of their leader, Star Saber himself arrives on the scene, flying in and transforming before he lands. Thinking he came to help fight the Destrons, Victory Leo yells and charges into battle with a rather G1 Megatron-like angry facial expression toward a surprised Leozack. Instead, Star Saber tells him to wait ("Ma-te!"), stepping into Victory Leo's path and blocking him, basically retelling the other Brainmasters' message to the shocked lion robot. Victory Leo tries to walk around him, but Star Saber knocks him down and then stands up, arms outstretched, a red glowing outline around him. The other Cybertron leaps up throwing a punch that land on Saber's chest and repeatedly on Saber's shielding arms before Saber grabs Victory Leo's left arm to stop him. With the red glow now around them both, Star Saber tells Victory Leo he needs his cooperation, to which he agrees.
With the two standing face to face, Star Saber's battle helmet comes down over his head. From behind the helmet's lower yellow panel, the installed sphere (first seen in the previous episode) begins working, sending out lines of energy to Victory Leo and encompassing them both. Leaping up, still shrouded in the lines, Star Saber transforms to his superjet mode and Victory Leo transforms to his jet mode. Then combining the two jets together into a single larger superjet, Saber's voice rings out, "Gattai, Victory Saber!"
The Brainmaster car robots are pleasantly surprised, but the Destrons there are downright scared. :D Victory Saber tells the Brainmasters to stop them, pleasing Blacker, before zipping off into space. Leozack orders Kakuryu to hurry up and call Deszaras to warn him before the scene switch.

Description of the events in the video:
Out in space in Earth's orbit looms a large missile launcher site with the Destrons' ship Thunder Arrow (Skystalker) nearby. The Victory Saber superjet produces a large red streak as it blazes through Earth's atmosphere toward the site. Aboard Thunder Arrow Deszaras receives the Destrons' call (with some version of a cell phone :)) but doesn't think Star Saber will succeed, despite Goryu and Kakuryu's blubberings to the contrary and Kakuryu's report about Victory Leo's "gattai" with Star Saber. The launcher activates, loading up the same kind of missiles as before and starting a countdown to readiness.
Still confident, Deszaras laughs to himself as he walks up to a monitoring screen. His confidence turns to shock as the screen lights up with the data on the Cybertron's speed. The countdown indicator moves one more step forward in the meantime.
After a scene switch to Earth, the Brainmaster car robots summon their swords and charge into battle against the Destrons. A still image for each Brainmaster in action follows.
In space the countdown indicator moves another step toward launch. Victory Saber decides it's time. "Transform!" The Victory theme starts playing. The Victory Leo portion splits off. Star Saber's red nosecone latches onto its blade and pull it out from the booster to become a sword. Already detached in robot mode from his booster, Saber folds up and slides into the chest portion of his booster-turned-super-robot-body. "Battle up!" The red battle helmet shifts up from his back onto his head. Part of Victory Leo slides off from its wing backpack and splits in two, each folding up and unfolding into super lower legs and feet. With a signal from the sphere inside Star Saber's head, the two super boots latch onto his own feet in a swirl of electricity and clanking metal sounds. Similarly the wing backpack snaps onto Star Saber's back, swinging down its twin long cannons over his shoulders. The transformation is complete. "Victory Saber!"
Eyes glowing briefly and propelled by the lion-head/engine in the wing backpack, the super robot flies off toward the launcher. Deszaras intercepts him, swinging his huge dragon wings forward. Deflecting them with his arms, Victory Saber dodges the dragon's golden spikes, shields himself with his arms from a pair of Deszaras' Breastforce eagle partner's bombs without any damage, and then fires his twin shoulder cannons, pushing the screaming Deszaras back. The dragon fires scattered multiple blasts from his tail, but Victory Saber avoids them all and hits him with another dose from his twin cannons. Deszaras returns spewing fire that pushes against the Cybertron's arms.
Laughing evilly, the Destron commander tells him he is out of time; the countdown has moved to the final stage! In spite of this, Victory Saber turns toward the launcher and fires his cannons, destroying part of it. Transforming, Deszaras flies in with a mighty left punch to his chest. Victory Saber counters with his own left punch to Deszaras' face and a kick with his right boot. Then, drawing out Victory Leo's huge rifle, the Cybertron sends him yelling away in space with a single powerful, sustained shot, and then turns the rifle on the launcher and fires. One shot totally incinerates it in a huge fireball as the Victory theme ends.
Back on Earth the wind blows across the land as Wingwaver and the Rescue Patrol clean up after the damage wrought by the first missile early in the episode. Holi runs up with news that their commander has succeeded in destroying the launcher. "Honto (Really)?" Jan asks. "Sugoi (Great)!" Wingwaver chips in, the three sharing a joke poking fun at the Destrons.
Up in space Victory Saber has transformed to superjet mode and is zipping back to Earth. As the narrator continues his remarks about the powered-up being, the view pans up across Victory Saber's glowing-red robot mode standing before planet Earth before the episode ends, accompanied by triumphant Victory military music.
After a commercial break with Jan and Holi is the preview for the next episode. Jan has finished building himself a mecha. Accompanied by his girlfriend Irumina (or Ilumina) from their Catholic school, Jan pilots it around but soon finds himself under attack from the Destron Dinoforce, who narrowly miss shooting them. Pursued by Goryu, the leaping mecha bounds away from him until the Dinoforce leader ensnares the mecha's legs with energy rings. The Dinoforce beasts and Dinoking himself (with all of the Dinoforce weapons merged!) fire at Star Saber, creating an explosion that throws him backwards. A quick scene of Dinoking punching away Victory Saber appears, followed by one of Jan and his mecha and the title, "Jan, Protect the School!!" The clip ends with Victory Saber taking out his sword for a final clash with Dinoking.
