Below are the descriptions for the clips.
"Ambush in the Desert" (Part 1 of 5)
Greatshot takes a long trip to Earth and finds Destrons plundering energy.
The Cybertrons on Earth head out in Galaxy Shuttle to stop them.
Technical details:
The source is a second-generation videotape, though of a much better quality than the Masterforce clips. The full-screen view looks great at 1280X1024 resolution on my monitor, helped by the sharpen filter I applied to the video.
Description of the events in the video:
After a commercial break with Star Saber begins the preview for the episode. Galaxy Shuttle is forced to crash land. Laster of the Cybertron Brainmasters sinks into the desert. Guyhawk of the Destron Breastforce then uses his "Ice Needles" attack against the forming Brainmaster combiner Road Caesar, forcing Blacker to fall. Destron czar Deszaras shot the Cybertron six-changer Greatshot in the arm with an arrow. Explosions surround Blacker, resulting in his loss of his severed right lower arm. Star Saber in jet form bulldozes through the inside of Thunder Arrow. The preview ends with the Dinoforce scattered by the explosion of the energon that they had collected, followed by the title screen.
Greatshot is heading to Earth, passing by Uranus (the lopsided ringed planet), Jupiter, and then Mars (apparently restored after Megazarak had blown it up to destroy Fortress Maximus back in the Headmasters series) along the way.
At dawn Greatshot rolls up in his tank mode out of a cave and transforms, stretching himself as if he had awoken after a well-deserved rest. Suddenly a ship rises out of the ocean beneath him. "Destron..." says Greatshot, "Thunder Arrow!"
After a scene change is a mountainous countryside with the Cybertron base (Countdown) rolling along. The scene quickly switches to an energy plant being attacked by the Destron Dinoforce. As Kakuryu the triceratops giggles, Goryu atop his T-Rex Pretender shell gives the orders to collect the energy.
The scene switches back to the Cybertron base, where Saber is asking the Brainmaster car Transformers whether they are back in shape (after the damage suffered against the Breastforce combiner Liokaiser in "The Power of Rage" two episodes ago. Their group leader Blacker reassures him. Saber then gives the orders to the Rescue Patrol to go with the Brainmasters in Galaxy Shuttle, who blasts off to deal with the latest Destron attack.
After a scene change a tiny scorpion can be seen moving by something. Greatshot arrives to find a group of apparently dead Cybertrons strewn around a battle-torn area. He picks up a picture on the ground by someone's hand of what appears to be a family, and gets angry at the Destrons.
Another scene change leads to the energy plant, where the napping Kakuryu prevents the human workers from escaping when he happens to see them trying. ^_^ The video ends with another scene change.
"Ambush in the Desert" (Part 2 of 5)
The Cybertrons are ambushed, and the 'Three Brainmasters' literally sink
into really big trouble (at least two of them did). ;)

Description of the events in the video:
The Dinoforce are producing energon from the oil at the energy plant when something in the air gets their attention. Their leader Goryu isn't concerned, though, as we will soon find out why.
The disturbance is Galaxy Shuttle. The Cybertrons aboard him are examining schematics of the area, confirming that the Destrons have been behind this. As the shuttle gets closer, a pair of tank barrels pop out of the desert sands and fires on it. The source then reveals itself as the Breastforce member Killbison, with fellow member Drillhorn also coming out of the ground firing at Galaxy Shuttle. Under heavy fire, the shuttle crash-lands onto the desert. The Cybertron Brainmasters Braver, Laster, and then Blacker come out to return fire, with the shuttle joining in.
The three then transform to pursue the retreating Breastforce duo, but Braver and Laster lose traction in the sands. Laster transforms to avoid being skewered by Drillhorn. Braver comes over to help him stop the Destron, but the drill tank burrows into the sands after covering his retreat with a pair of smoke bombs. The two follow his trail along the surface while Blacker is chased by Killbison as the scene changes.
Back at the plant, Jan and the Rescue Patrol members are wondering how to get past Kakuryu to rescue the human workers. Holi (Stakeout) then came up with the idea to send in Fire (Red Hot), who buries the triceratops and the emerging robot in lots and lots of foam, allowing the humans to escape. ^_^
After a scene change back to the battle, Braver and Laster have sunk into the desert sands to their waists by the time Blacker rolls up. With Killbison behind him, Drillhorn opposite him and the other two Brainmasters, and then fellow Breastforce members Leozack and Guyhawk floating up into the air from the sands, the three Cybertrons are in big trouble. Led by their team leader Leozack, the Destrons laugh as the commercial break with Deszaras ends the video clip.
"Ambush in the Desert" (Part 3 of 5)
Caught in a predicament, the 'Three Brainmasters' combine into Road Caesar
to get out of it, but the Breastforce stops it. Greatshot comes to the rescue!

Description of the events in the video:
After the commercial break with the Dinoforce, the group are moving some energon cubes when Kakuryu and his shell walk up, covered in Fire's foam and whimpering. Goryu calls him a fool and then gives him some bath supplies with which to clean himself off. ^_^
Back at the battle, Leozack flies around firing at the Brainmasters, two of whom are still stuck in the sand. Killbison blasts away Laster's weapons, Guyhawk's bombs pound them, and Drillhorn with his blast knocks Blacker down without his sword.
After just avoiding a hit from both Leozack and Guyhawk, Blacker then tells Laster and Braver to combine, since Road Caesar's power might help. They did, but Blacker's weight pushes the combiner farther into the sands. Killbison and Drillhorn begin their barrage of the combiner, who then starts exerting his super energy to levitate himself out of the ground. Unfortunately, Guyhawk transforms, lands, and for the first time uses his "Ice Needles" attack, launching them from in between his fingers, neutralizing Road Caesar's blue aura of energy. The second attack separates him, throwing Blacker to the ground. Laughing, Killbison points his gun barrel at Blacker's head, while Guyhawk points his wrist blade at Braver, Drillhorn aims at Laster, and Leozack hovers overhead.
Just then Greatshot appears, strafing the area. Guyhawk recalls his fight with the six-changer while he was escaping from his prison on Planet Micro in the episode "Rescue Guyhawk!", and transforms to go after him. When Leozack appears in front of Greatshot, he dives out of the way and lets the two jets collide.
After a scene change, the Rescue Patrol and Jan are back at Galaxy Shuttle, taking aboard the humans. Jan thinks that it's cool to have Greatshot helping out, and goes inside to inform Star Saber.
After another scene change, Star Saber is seen coming to the battle site and talking to Jan over a communications console that is too large for him. ^_^ Star Saber seems surprised at the appearance of Greatshot. The video clip ends with Star Saber flying off into the distance.
"Ambush in the Desert" (Part 4 of 5)
While Drillhorn and Killbison deal with the 'Three Brainmasters',
Greatshot fights Leozack and Guyhawk before finding himself against the rest
of the Breastforce, including Deszaras. Blacker is severely injured while
trying to save Greatshot.

Description of the events in the video:
Guyhawk tries his "Ice Needles" attack against Greatshot, who endures it by transforming and knocking Guyhawk down when he lands on him. Leozack then catches Greatshot with a nunchuk chain and rushes at him, but the six-changer transforms into his gun mode and strafes him and Guyhawk. Greatshot next transforms into his armored car mode to chase the two.
Meanwhile, Laster and Braver are helplessly watching Blacker being double-teamed against by both Killbison and Drillhorn.
Greatshot continues his pursuit of the overwhelmed duo, who split up. He then falls into a rectangular hole that appears in the ground. Joined by Guyhawk, Leozack walks up to the hole and laughs, calling the Cybertron an idiot, but the duo get a really big surprise to see Greatshot coming out in his rhinoceros mode, spitting blasts.
However, the hole turns out to be the roof of a giant ship as it rises out of the desert sands, joined by Hellbat and his fellow Breastforce member Jargua. The ship is the Destron base Thunder Arrow, with Deszaras appearing right in front of him. Deszaras launches his pair of wing blades at Greatshot, who dodges them and flies off. Deszaras launches an arrow at him, forcing him to land, and then, as if psychically, directs the arrow through Greatshot's right arm from behind. Laughing, the Destron czar then watches as Hellbat and Jargua arrive to fire simultaneously at the Cybertron. Blacker rushes in to cover Greatshot, losing his now-severed lower right arm in the process. The video clip ends with Greatshot holding the severely wounded Blacker.
"Ambush in the Desert" (Part 5 of 5)
Star Saber flies to the rescue. He and Greatshot ravage Thunder Arrow, while
Braver and Laster destroy the Dinoforce's newly collected energon.

Description of the events in the video:
Star Saber arrives just in time to see what had happened. "Blacker!" "Soushireikan!" (which means "leader", or "Prime" if you want to) says someone. The Cybertron superjet strafes the area before hovering over Laster and Braver. The two are pulled out while hanging onto him, and at Star Saber's command fire on the Destrons before being dropped off beside Blacker and Greatshot, who told them to attend to Blacker.
Star Saber then transforms ("Transform! Brain set! Battle up!"), draws his sword, and confronts Deszaras aboard Thunder Arrow. With Blacker carried away by his partners, Greatshot draws his twin blades and prepares to deal with the Breastforce surrounding him.
After a scene change, an IV-like drip and a sheet metal being laid over Blacker's left leg is followed by Micromaster Pibo (Fixit) of the Rescue Patrol telling him that he will be all right. Braver and Laster stick around to watch over him.
Back at the battle, the Victory theme begins playing as Star Saber made a cut across the top of Deszaras' shield during their sword fight. Greatshot slices up Killbison, Jargua, and Hellbat with his twin blades, transforms into his rhino mode, and bites into Drillhorn. One of them suggests to the still battle-ready Leozack and Guyhawk to combine into Liokaiser. Leozack decides they shouldn't and tells them to withdraw, leaving Guyhawk mad over losing to Greatshot again.
During a standoff in the leaders' sword fight Greatshot appears in his jet mode firing on Deszaras. Star Saber then transforms and tells Greatshot to join him in plowing through the insides of Thunder Arrow. After Star Saber has left through the underside and Greatshot through the back, the ship starts tilting. Deszaras seems to be unfazed by this until he notices the Breastforce retreating into the distance, at which point he and the ship follow them after some parting words.
At the energy plant itself, the Dinoforce and their energon are under attack from Braver and Laster, who destroys the cubes with his cannon and sends the Dinoforce running.
Against a sunset the Cybertrons gather around Blacker, about whom Star Saber is worried. With his literally bandaged and reunited right arm, Blacker puts the worry to rest. As the episode ends, Star Saber looks away and ponders about the Destrons against the reddening sunset.
After a break with Jan and Holi is the preview for the next episode. Hellbat, Leozack, and Guyhawk throw chains attached to a bomb around Star Saber's fins. The bomb explodes just when Saber tries to remove it. Underground, an Indian female statue with a spiked ball on a chain turns out to be hiding Deszaras, who hits Star Saber with the ball and eventually stands over him as the title appears. Deszaras pulls out his huge gun and apparently destroys Star Saber with it as the preview ends...
