Technical details:
The source is a second-generation videotape, so its video quality is medium. The full-screen view does look great on my 17" monitor at 1280X1024 resolution. This clip is a combination of the three original sequential clips with the sharpen filter applied.
Description and background for the events in the video:
The Cybertron (Autobot) Pretenders, seen in the video along with the Headmaster Juniors, had just finished building Godbomber. The trailer can become a power-up armor for Super Ginrai (Powermaster Optimus Prime lookalike) so he can fight Black Zarak (recolored and remolded Scorponok), who is coming to Earth.
Entering his cab, the human Ginrai shouts, "Masterforce!" This summons his exosuit, which allows him to combine with his cab when he next yells, "Transform, god on!" to transform into a robot which looks just like the original Optimus Prime, but isn't him. Next he combines with his trailer to form Super Ginrai, and then combines with the Godbomber components to form God Ginrai.
He then blasts off into space to stop Black Zarak, but the nebulous Devil Z has noticed him and warned Mega and Giga on the moon. They head out in their transtectors (Transformer vehicles), combine into Overlord, and step into God Ginrai's path as he approaches. The fight begins. God Ginrai's Godbomber armor absorbs Overlord's first barrage of missiles. God Ginrai then gives Overlord some glancing blows with his rifles and delivers a kick to the head before firing directly at the heads of the Godmasters in Overlord's chest. After receiving a glancing blast from his own attack jet sent to attack God Ginrai's back, Overlord retreats to the moon with God Ginrai in pursuit.
Black Zarak (Scorponok given a recolor and different parts) appears over the moon in his scorpion mode as Overlord lands, pursued by the triggerhappy God Ginrai. Just as God Ginrai prepares to finish him off with a massively charged blast from his shoulder's missile launcher, Black Zarak throws him off balance and appears in robot mode. As the Cybertrons back on Earth watch, the two Destrons proceed to beat up on God Ginrai, but he refuses to give up as the episode draws to a close.
