This is the first part of the Headmasters episode
"The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg".
Technical details:
The source is a videotape from the Japanese Headmasters laserdisk, so its video quality is pretty good. I applied a sharpen filter to it, so it looks good even in full-screen mode if you want. Double-size mode is neat! ^_^
Description of the events in the video:
The video begins with the mention of Sixshot's dispatch of Ultra Magnus for good from the previous episode. Gathering in an area similar to the southwestern part of the United States are the various Destron (Decepticon) combiner teams (Stuntrons (Stunticons), Terrortrons (Terrorcons), and the Combatrons (Combaticons) in order) before Sixshot. After an exhortation against the Cybertrons (Autobots) from the six-changer, he gave the order to the "Scramble"-City robots to combine ("gattai"): "Combatrons, gattai!" (Bruticus). "Stuntrons, gattai!" (Menasor). "Terrortrons, gattai!" (Abominus). As the three gestalts fly off, the Destron Headmaster Horrorcons Snapdragon and Apeface follow: "Transform! Dash (which detaches their heads)!" Watching them go, Sixshot's optics flash as he talks glowingly about Galvatron before transforming into all six modes and then his winged wolf mode as the episode fades into the title scene, which has Galvatron in cannon mode underwater.
The scene shifts to Autobot City, where Fortress Maximus and the obviously much smaller Metroflex (Metroplex) are in city and battlestation modes, respectively. Outside are some Cybertron combiner robots.
Inside Fortress Maximus the Cybertron Headmasters are all looking at a map of Earth, dotted by Destron activity. After they puzzle over Galvatron and Megazarak (Scorponok), Fortress (Cerebros) sends Twincast (resurrected Blaster) and his cassettes out to investigate Megazarak.
Metroflex then transforms into robot mode and asked the Cybertron Headmasters outside to let him come with them so he can seek vengeance for the death of Ultra Magnus. Shortly after permission is granted an urgent message arrives through Metroflex's communications saying the Destron combiners are out in force. Scattershot then combines with his Technobots to form Computicon (Computron), who flies off. Hot Spot did the same with his Protectobots, combining into Guardian (Defensor).
A symbol switch later to the Destron headquarters on the moon Jollo, Sixshot in his seventh mode is shown blasting down Guardian and generally causing mayhem. This pleases the admiring Galvatron, who laughs maniacally while Scourge and Cyclonus whisper among themselves. They then pacify Galvatron when he demands to know what they were talking about before he leaves.
Elsewhere in headquarters is a huge store of pink cubic energon cubes. Counterpunch wonders what Galvatron is up to, apparently from the large amount of energy stored, and then leaves the room. As he walks off Galvatron notices him and demands an explanation. The Autobot double spy's excuse involving the "Cybertron Headmasters" led to a discussion which apparently reveals an aspect of Galvatron's ultimate plan when Counterpunch's optic flashes. After Galvatron laughs again and enters the energon storage room, the spy runs off thinking Fortress should know about this. He passes by Scourge and Cyclonus, who guess Galvatron must have something to do with this before laughing.
A scene switch later Galvatron is seen flying toward Earth. Looking over his domain, he laughs with glowing red eyes as he anticipates ultimate victory before a commerical break with Sixshot appears.
The demise of Galvatron (Part 2 of 3)
This is the second part from "The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg".
Technical details:
The source is a videotape from the Japanese Headmasters laserdisk, so its video quality is pretty good. I applied a sharpen filter to it, so it looks good even in full-screen mode if you want. Double-size mode is neat! ^_^
Description of the events in the video:
After a commerical break with Chromedome is a view of Autobot City with Fortress Maximus in city mode and Metroflex in battlestation mode. Running up, Counterpunch stops to "Transform" into his Autobot form, Punch, before running on into Fortress Maximus, where he revealed Galvatron's plan to the Cybertron Headmasters.
As they continue their discussion, Twincast and Steeljaw come to a cliff below which is Megazarak (Scorponok) in scorpion mode. Cybertron corpses are along the ground down there. As they prepare to head back, Steeljaw notices Sixshot in ordinary wolf mode up in the air. The Destron begins firing at the two but missed. Steeljaw asks Twincast if he's okay ("daijobu"). Confirming this, he tells Steeljaw that he must go off to tell "soushireikan" (their leader) the exact location of Megazarak while he deals with Sixshot. Unfortunately Sixshot avoids all of Twincast's shots and knocks him off the cliff crashing down onto the ground below. As Sixshot laughs in triumph, Steeljaw cries but carries out his given duty, leaving the Destron to his mirth with Twincast's unconscious form below.
A scene switch leads to an Autobot outpost under attack by five generic Destrons, viewed by Spike, Daniel, and Wheelie on a screen. Arcee joins in their discussion of the dire situation as the symbol switch appears.
Arriving at a Destron outpost, Punch transforms silently to his Destron form Counterpunch and enters. Stopping at each door, he is suddenly knocked down while heading to a new one being opened by Scourge. Weaseling his way out of this encounter, the apparently dazed double spy crawls into the room, where he transforms into Punch, regains his mind, and then transforms back into Counterpunch. ^_^
Moving down a hallway, Counterpunch hears Galvatron's voice coming out of a room through an open door. Entering he soon finds out that the sounds are coming through a vent up on a wall to an adjacent room. Climbing up where he could see through it, he sees Galvatron and Sixshot. Galvatron puts on-screen a picture of his new, planet-size body, which shocks Sixshot. Galvatron then orders the six-changer to find Megazarak (Scorponok), saying it's time to deal with him and his Destron Headmasters.
As the conversation winds down Counterpunch climbs back down and exits down the hallway, but not before Galvatron sees and wonders about him as he leaves his own room...
A commercial break featuring the transforming Megazarak (Scorponok) ends this clip.
The demise of Galvatron (Part 3 of 3)
This is the third and final part from
"The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg".
Galvatron meets his end from the Cybertron Headmasters.

Description of the events in the video:
After a commercial break with the transforming Fortress Maximus, the view opens on a frontal look of Fortress Maximus in city mode and Metroflex (Metroplex) in battlestation mode in front of Autobot City. Fortress Maximus transforms into battlestation mode, while Metroflex simultaneously transforms into robot mode. Calling out "Soushireikan (Leader)!" to the exiting Fortress, Metroflex is granted permission to join him and the others on this mission. Punch arrives onboard the fortress just in time as it and Metroflex take off into the air, flying toward their destination. Punch then reveals Galvatron's full plan to Fortress before the symbol switch occurs.
At the mouth of a cave Zarak and his Destron Headmasters are talking until they are interrupted by the arrival of Sixshot. The others want to fight him, but Zarak stops them.
The fortress and Metroflex fly over a snow-covered landscape, continuing their search for Megazarak.
Meanwhile Sixshot, seeing Galvatron overhead, walks up to Zarak and pretends to be punishing him by hanging him up in his arms. Galvatron lands and demands to know the location of Zarak's "transtector" (Megazarak body).
Suddenly the Cybertrons show up. Fortress declares he will stop Galvatron from carrying out his plan. After Sixshot releases Zarak so he can head toward his transtector, Metroflex challenges the six-changer to a fight. Meanwhile, Galvatron prepares to fight Fortress, but gets a greeting instead from Chromedome, who introduces himself. Hardhead then transforms, followed by Chromedome, Brainstorm, and Highbrow; the four vehicles then encircle Galvatron. Megazarak the scorpion moves in, grabbing Fortress' battlestation in his pincers and shaking it.
Apparently some time later Chromedome transforms back to robot mode ("Transform! Head on!") and joins the other Cybertron Headmasters in a crowd around Galvatron. Throwing them off crashing onto the ground, the Destron leader laughs self-confidently as the scene changes again. Steeljaw has returned to Twincast, whom he awakens, glad that he's all right. (Note: Twincast has eyelids.)
Back to Galvatron, who is facing four Cybertron Headmasters at the edge of an icy cliff in the Arctic. He turns Hardhead's leap into a dive off the cliff into the frigid water below, and does the same to Chromedome. Both Brainstorm and Highbrow are kicked and shoved down as well. Pleased at this, Galvatron laughs again, but stops when he sees them getting out of the water onto the ice nearby. Leaping down, he aims his cannon at them.
Just then Counterpunch shows up on the cliff, giving the Headmasters helpful information to defeat Galvatron. Distracted by the revelation that Counterpunch is a spy, Galvatron is kicked into the waters by the leaping Chromedome, who then calls on the others to execute the "Head formation" against the Destron. One by one they leap up and call out the phrase, joining their arms together to form a ring of intense power. The ring fires a beam narrowly missing Galvatron, who transforms into his cannon mode and blasts Hardhead out of the formation onto the ground. The other three separate as Galvatron continues firing. Getting up, Hardhead transforms into tank mode, bumps Galvatron into the water, and transforms back, giving the others time to reunite. Transforming back underwater, Galvatron resurfaces to face Hardhead completing the "Head formation". This time the beam is directed at the icy cliffs and the ice blocks around Galvatron, creating an ice avalanche which begins to bury and crush him. The final beam, aimed presumably right at Galvatron, causes a massive explosion. "Galvatron!" Sixshot calls out at the sight. Megazarak orders a retreat, followed by Sixshot and the three other Destron Headmasters.
The Cybertrons stand on a cliff looking out over the battle site, seeing no sign of Galvatron or anyone else. As the five Headmasters, Twincast, Steeljaw, and Punch watch on, the narrator notes that Megazarak remains a major threat the Cybertrons will have to deal with.
